Note on Term & Tenure: The appointment is for a term of 3 years or until the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. A maximum of two consecutive terms may be granted.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Applicants must satisfy all of the following eligibility conditions prescribed under Rule 21 of the Tripura Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018:

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Graduate from a recognized University
• Desirable: Recognized Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Law, Management, Human Rights, Rehabilitation, or Education of Persons with Disabilities

Experience Requirement

• At least 20 years of experience in a Group 'A' level or equivalent post in Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertaking, Semi-Government, or Autonomous Body dealing with disability-related matters or social sector; OR as a senior-level functionary in a registered State, National, or International level voluntary organization working in disability or social development.

Special Knowledge

• Must possess special knowledge or practical experience in respect of matters relating to rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.

Age Limit

• Must not have attained the age of 56 years as on 1st January 2026 (the year in which the last date for receipt of applications falls).

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The appointment is made by the State Government on the recommendation of a Search-cum-Selection Committee. The selection process involves the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: The Search-cum-Selection Committee screens and shortlists eligible candidates based on prescribed qualifications, experience, and special knowledge criteria.
2. Panel Recommendation: The committee recommends a panel of 3 suitable candidates to the State Government in order of merit.
3. Final Selection & Appointment: The State Government of Tripura makes the final selection and issues the appointment order.

All candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed under Rule 21 of the Tripura Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018.

Travel Allowance: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending any stage of the selection process.
