Please refer to our advertisement in Employment News dated 11 – 17 December 2021, Page number 12. Applications are invited to attend Online Interview for Unreserved Temporary Posts of Three SRFs in externally funded projects at Division of Plant Physiology, IARI, New Delhi.
1. Post Name: JRF/ SRF (one post)
2. Fellowship/ month salary: Rs 31000 +24% HRA per month Or Rs 35000 +24% HRA per month for candidate with 2 years relevant research experience
3. Project: DBT funded project on “Establishing an efficient platform for precise genome editing in Rice”
4. Essential Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Plant Physiology/ Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Biochemistry or in relevant subjects. The candidates must have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/GATE or equivalent OR Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines Please see DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018, dated 30th Jan 2019; ICAR FNo. Ag.Edn. 2(9)/2018-HRD, 30th Oct 2018; ICAR FNo. Ag.Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD, 30th July 2019 for eligibility.
5. Desirable qualifications: Agrobacterium mediate genetic transformation of rice, particle gun mediated transformation of plants, genome editing of plants, molecular cloning, Molecular analysis of transgenic plants

Selection Procedure
After screening the applications, only candidates with essential and desirable qualifications will be called for online interview on 5 th January 2022. Any change in the Interview date will be intimated to the selected candidate or placed in IARI website.

1. Interested Candidates may send their biodata with self attested scanned copies of degree certificates, mark sheets of 10, 12, UG and PG to [email protected].
2., The last date for receipt of the Biodata is 31th December 2021.
3. Biodata as per the format given in Annexure 1 should be submitted along with attested copies of 10th, 12th, Under-graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D. and NET/GATE and other certificates required. Affix an attested recent passport size photograph in the Biodata.
4. The biodata should contain Academic qualifications starting from 10th Standard to the maximum qualification with % marks obtained, distinction/medal if any.
5. This is required for calculation of academic score. If the candidates do not fill the marks and relevant attested certificates, the academic score will not be awarded.

About Indian Agricultural Research Institute
The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
During the fifties, the advancement of scientific disciplines constituted the core program of IARI and provided the base for its fast expansion in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It attained the status of a Deemed University in the year 1958. The green revolution that brought smiles to millions of Indians bloomed from the fields of IARI with the development of famous wheat varieties which contributed an estimated on billion tones of addition production. As the Mother of several ICAR institutions, IARI continues to be the leading institution for agricultural research, education and extension in the country.
Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) was established on 1st April 1905. IARI is located in Delhi. Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is also known as Pusa Institute is an Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It is financed and administered by the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
