Educational Qualification:
Science Subjects: Candidates should have passed the Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from an Education Board listed as a COBSE member OR Passed Three years of Diploma Courses in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) OR Passed Two years of Vocational courses with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from State Education Boards/ Councils listed in COBSE.
Other than Science Subjects: Passed Intermediate/ Equivalent Examination in any subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards listed as COBSE members OR Passed two years of vocational courses from Education Boards listed as COBSE members.
Physical Standards:
Height (For Male): Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms
Height (For Female): Minimum acceptable height is 152 cms, for Candidates belonging to North East or Hilly Regions of Uttarakhand, a lower Min Height is 147 cms, in case of Candidates from Lakshadweep, the min height will be 150 cms
Weight: Weight should be proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
Chest (Both Male & Female): Minimum expansion of 05 cms.
Hearing: Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 06 meters by each ear separately
Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

Age Limit: 37 Years.

The Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932. Its first ac flight came into being on 01 Apr 1933. It possessed a strength of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (literally, air soldiers). The aircraft inventory comprised of four Westland Wapiti IIA army co-operation biplanes at Drigh Road as the "A" Flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co- operation) Squadron.
