Agniveervayu (Musician)

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a notification for the recruitment of Agniveervayu (Musician) for Intake 01/2027. Unmarried Indian male and female candidates with proficiency in music and musical instruments are invited to register online for a pre-registered recruitment rally. The engagement is for a period of four years under the Agnipath scheme.

Educational Qualification:
Must have passed Matriculation (10th) or equivalent with minimum pass marks from a recognized Board.

Musical Proficiency:

• Proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch, and singing a complete song.
• Ability to perform in notations like Staff notation, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, or Carnatic.
• Proficiency in playing at least one instrument from List A (Concert Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Bass/Tuba) or List B (Keyboard/Organ/Piano, Guitar, Violin/Viola/String Bass, Percussion/Drums, All Indian Classical Instruments). Proficiency in two instruments (one from each list) is desirable.

Musical Experience Certificate (Required):
Candidates must possess one of the following:

• Grade 5th or equivalent (or above) in an instrument from a recognised music institute (TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music, etc.), OR
• A Diploma or equivalent in Hindustani/Carnatic Classical Music from a recognised university, OR
• Certificate of participation/awards presented at various events (for blowing instrument performers with staff notation).

Age Limit:

• Birth Date Range: Born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive).
• Upper Age Limit: Must be under 22 years of age as on the date of enrolment.
• Marital Status: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Marriage during the engagement period is not permitted.

Medical Standards:

• Height: Male - 162 cm; Female - 152 cm (147 cm for NE/Hilly areas, 150 cm for Lakshadweep).
• Chest (Male): Minimum 77 cm (with 5 cm expansion).
• Hearing: Able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters.
• Visual Standards: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6; Colour Vision CP-II.

Pay & Seva Nidhi Package:




Year 1: ₹30,000/month (In-hand ₹21,000 + ₹9,000 corpus + ₹9,000 GoI match).

Year 2: ₹33,000/month (In-hand ₹23,100 + ₹9,900 corpus + ₹9,900 GoI match).

Year 3: ₹36,500/month (In-hand ₹25,550 + ₹10,950 corpus + ₹10,950 GoI match).

Year 4: ₹40,000/month (In-hand ₹28,000 + ₹12,000 corpus + ₹12,000 GoI match).

Plus Risk & Hardship, Dress, and Travel allowances. Seva Nidhi of approx. ₹10.04 Lakhs on completion of 4 years.

Selection Procedure: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), English Written Test, Music Proficiency Test (MPT), and Medical Examination.
