The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released the official notification (Advt No. 377/2025) for the recruitment of 27 Scientist B (Non-Medical) posts. This is a premier opportunity for candidates holding Masters/M.E./M.Tech degrees in Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, or Pharmacology to join India's apex body for medical research.

Recruitment Type: This recruitment involves a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an Interview. It is not direct recruitment; candidates must qualify the competitive examination.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Scientist-B (Non-Medical): Masters from a recognised university in Biomedical Sciences.
• Scientist-B (Non-Medical IT/Computer Science): ME/M.Tech (Computer Science) OR ME/M.Tech/MCA/B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT with Ph.D.
• Scientist-B (Non-Medical Pharmacology): Masters in Pharmacy (Pharmacology) OR Pharm-D degree recognized by UGC/PCI.

Note: Required qualification/experience must be completed on or before 01/03/2026.

2. Age Limit

Age as on: 01/03/2026

• Maximum Age: 35 years (Not exceeding)
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
• OBC: 3 years relaxation
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation (Max age 56 years)
• PwBD + OBC: 13 years relaxation (Max age 56 years)
• PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years relaxation (Max age 56 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation
• Central Govt. Employees: 5 years (General), 8 years (OBC), 10 years (SC/ST) – with min 3 years service.

3. Mandatory Requirements

• PwBD: Must have benchmark disability of equal to or more than 40%.
• Scribe: Available for eligible PwBD candidates with compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection will be a two-stage process involving a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an Interview.

Stage I: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Mode: Online (CBT)

Nature: Qualifying (Candidates need 50% marks, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD to qualify for Interview).

• Candidates 5 times the number of posts will be called for the interview based on CBT merit.
• Final selection is based on Interview performance only.
