IREL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: 12 Apprentice Vacancies at Chavara, Kerala

IREL (India) Limited has released notification for 12 Apprentice engagement positions at its Chavara unit in Kollam District, Kerala. The apprenticeship positions span six designated trades requiring ITI, M Sc, B Tech, BE, Diploma, BBA(Fin), or B Com qualifications. Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

The stipend for apprentices is prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and notified by the Government from time to time. Trade apprentices typically receive approximately Rs. 7,000 per month while Graduate and Technician apprentices receive approximately Rs. 9,000 – Rs. 10,000 per month. • Welder (Trade Apprentice): ITI in Welder Trade
• AAO(P) (Trade Apprentice): M Sc (Chemistry)
• Mechanical (Graduate Apprentice): B Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering
• Mechanical (Technician Apprentice): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Executive (General Stream): BBA (Finance) / B Com

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on the last date of application. Relaxations applicable as per rules.

Ineligibility: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and rules made thereunder in any Government / Public Sector / Private Industrial Organization are NOT eligible to apply.

Reservation: Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PWD will be applicable as per the prescribed percentage applicable to the State of Kerala, along with relevant Government guidelines.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection process for IREL Apprentice positions follows these stages:

1. Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared based on marks scored in the specified educational qualification.
2. Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of a tie, higher marks in the specified educational qualification will be considered. If still tied, seniority in date of birth will be taken into account.
3. Priority Order for Selection:

• (b) Candidates from Mining area and peripheral villages within 10 KM radius of IREL (India) Limited, Chavara unit
• (c) Wards of serving employees / Forum members

1. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification of original certificates and marksheets.
2. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must be found "Medically Fit" by the Medical Officer of IREL (India) Limited.
