Police Recruitment Board invites online applications from eligible candidates of Domicile of UT J&K residing within the radius of 0 to 10 Kms from International Border/Line of Control/ Actual Ground Position Line/ Line of Actual Control (IB/LOC/AGPL/LAC from Border Districts of UT for participation in the selection process for the post of Constable in two Border Battalions (one in Jammu Province and one in Kashmir Province) as per guidelines of MHA GOI letter No. 13030/1/2018-K.II dated 08-03-2018 in the Pay Band-I of Rs.5200-20200 + Grade pay 1900/- (Now revised 19900-63200 Level-2). i. The posts assigned to each province shall be equally distributed among Border Districts of Jammu/Kashmir. 1. Post Name: Constable in two Border Battalions (one in Jammu Province and one in Kashmir Province) 2. Educational Qualification: The Candidate should have passed matriculation examination from any Government recognized Board by or before the last date for submission of application form. 3. 1. The selection of the candidates for the post of Constable shall be made at District level on their performance in written test vis-å-vis number of vacancies. In case of tie in merit, the preference will be given to the candidate older in age
2. The written test will consist of objective type questions. The question paper will consist of 100 questions to be attempted in 2 hours.
3. The question paper will be of matriculation standard and will comprise questions on general awareness/general knowledge, elementary mathematics, analytical wyptitude and ability.
1. The candidates are required to read the eligibility conditions carefully as mentioned in the advertisement notice before filling the forms. The last date for filling of onlinc applications shall be 02.04.2022.
2. Last date for submission of online application form shall be 30 days after the activation of the link which will be notified separately.
3. The last date for the receipt of the application provided in the notification shall be the cutoff date for determining the eligibility with regard to educational qualification/relevant category.
4. Any qualification or claim accruing to the candidate after last date of receipt of application shall not be entertained.
5. No "under process" claim will be considered at any stage.
6. In terms of S.0 290 of 2021 dated 20-08-2021 the candidates possessing National Cadet Corps (NCC) Certificates shall be awarded bonus marks as per the said SO.
7. However, those candidates who had qualified PET/PST possesses NCC certificate can submit valid NCC certificate issued before cut-off date of earlier advertisement notification.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police or JKP was established in the year 1873 and is the law enforcement agency, having primary responsibilities in law enforcement and investigation within the 22 districts of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. JKP works with the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force, and other Paramilitary forces of India to keep the state secure from incursions from Pakistan. The agency also investigates alleged misconduct by other units of the security forces in the state.
