Vacancy Details

A total of 390 vacancies have been advertised across the following departments. Detailed post names, cadre, and category-wise breakup will be available in Annexure-A of the official notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria as on the cut-off dates:

Domicile:

• Applicants must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
• A valid Domicile Certificate, issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed format, must be possessed on or before the cut-off date (25.02.2026).

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025):

Educational Qualification:

• The specific qualification(s) prescribed for each advertised post are detailed in Annexure-A of the official notification.
• Candidates must have acquired the prescribed educational qualification strictly on or before the cut-off date of 25.02.2026.
• Candidature will be cancelled if original certificates are not produced as proof during document verification.

Salary/Stipend

The Pay Level for the advertised posts will be specified in Annexure-A of the official notification. Candidates are advised to refer to the Annexure-A for post-wise salary details.

Selection Process

The selection process for the JKSSB posts will primarily consist of an Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) written examination. Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will then proceed to a Document Verification (DV) stage. The syllabus for the examination will be notified separately on the JKSSB official website.

General Information/Instructions

• Application Fee:
  • Rs. 600/- for General Category candidates.
  • Rs. 500/- for SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD category candidates.
  • Fee must be paid online via Net Banking, Credit, or Debit cards.
  • Application fees are non-refundable and non-adjustable.
• Examination Scheme: The examination will be Objective Type with Multiple Choice Questions, set only in English. There will be negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to each question for every wrong answer.
• Admit Cards: Roll Numbers and Admit Cards will be issued about one week before the examination date and must be downloaded from the JKSSB website. No physical admit cards will be sent.
• Documents for Verification: Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification must present original certificates for educational qualification, domicile, category, birth date, and other relevant documents, all valid as of the cut-off date (25.02.2026). Two recent passport-size colour photographs and a valid Photo-ID proof are also required.
• Provisional Candidature: All candidatures are provisional until the genuineness and validity of documents are verified.
• Scribe Facility: Candidates with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) can avail the facility of a Scribe and/or compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) as per extant guidelines, subject to producing required certificates and an undertaking.
• Important Note: Candidates are advised to fill the application form carefully as requests for change/correction will not be entertained after submission.
