Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Coal Superintendent (05 Posts):
    • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering + First Class Colliery Manager’s Certificate of Competency under Mines Act, 1952.
    • Experience: 5 years experience (min 3 years in Coal Industry after obtaining certificate).
  • Secretary to Coal Controller (01 Post):
    • Qualification: Degree in Law/Commerce/Management or equivalent.
    • Experience: 5 years experience in Admin, Accounts, Budget, RTI, or Legal matters.
  • Assistant Coal Superintendent (07 Posts):
    • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering + Managerial Certificate of Competency (First Class or Second Class).
    • Experience: 5 years experience in Coal Industry.
  • Senior Geologist (01 Post):
    • Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology.
    • Experience: 5 years experience in Geological investigation/coal exploration.
  • IT Officer (01 Post):
    • Qualification: Degree in Computer Science/IT + 3 years experience OR Post Graduate in Computer Application/IT.
    • Experience: Experience in Website maintenance, e-governance, or ERP systems.
  • Legal Officer (01 Post):
    • Qualification: Degree in Law.
    • Experience: 3 years experience in handling court cases/legal matters.
  • Survey Officer (02 Posts) & Senior Mines Surveyor (06 Posts):

2. Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 56 years as of the closing date for receipt of applications.

3. Mandatory Requirements

  • Officers must be holding an analogous post on a regular basis OR have 5 years of regular service in Level-11 (for Level-12 posts).

About Ministry of Coal

The Ministry of Coal is a ministry of the Government of India responsible for overseeing the country's coal reserves, production, and distribution. The ministry was established in 1974, and its headquarters are located in New Delhi.

The primary functions of the Ministry of Coal include formulating policies and strategies related to coal production, distribution, and consumption; promoting research and development in the coal sector; and regulating the allocation and use of coal resources in the country.
