Regional Officer — CBFC Regional Offices (6 Posts)
- Officer Cadre: Officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Central Service Group 'A' eligible for appointment as Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.
- Essential Qualification: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.
- Language Requirement: Sound knowledge of Hindi and one more of the following Indian languages, specific to the Regional Office — Tamil (Chennai), Odia (Cuttack), Hindi (Delhi), Telugu (Hyderabad), Bengali (Kolkata), Marathi (Mumbai).
- Additional Requirement: Sound knowledge of Indian history and culture.
- Experience: 10 years' administrative or managerial experience in a responsible capacity.
- Maximum Age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Deputation Period: Ordinarily not exceeding 4 years.
Additional Regional Officer — CBFC Mumbai (1 Post)
- Officer Cadre: Suitable officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Central Service Group 'A'.
- Essential Qualification: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent.
- Language Requirement: Sound knowledge of Hindi and one more Indian language — in this case Marathi.
- Additional Requirement: Sound knowledge of Indian history and culture.
- Experience: 7 years' administrative or managerial experience in a responsible capacity.
- Maximum Age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Deputation Period: Ordinarily not exceeding 3 years.
Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Screening Method: The selection of eligible officers will be done through a detailed scrutiny of the applications forwarded by the respective cadres/controlling authorities, along with the mandatory supporting documents.
- Documents Scrutiny: Applications complete in all respects — including the up-to-date APAR dossier for the last five years, Vigilance Clearance, Integrity Certificate, Cadre Clearance, and the statement on any minor or major penalties imposed in the last 10 years — will be processed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- UPSC Panel Recommendation: A panel will be constituted by the UPSC in accordance with the relevant Deputation Rules; the selected officers will be recommended by the UPSC for appointment to the posts on deputation.
- Terms & Conditions: Pay, tenure of deputation, and other terms and conditions are regulated as per DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
