Applications are invited from willing and eligible Indian Nationals in the prescribed proforma for appointment to the under mentioned post, on the same becoming vacant, in the National Green Tribunal, Western Zone Bench, Pune, purely on deputation basis as per details given below 1. Name of the Post: Assistant Registrar (One) 2. Place of Posting: Pune 3. Level in pay Matrix: Level -11 (Rs. 67700-208700/-) as per 7th CPC 4. Educational & Other qualifications : a. Officers possessing a Bachelor's Degree in law from a recognized University and holding (a) (b) Analogous post on regular basis in the Central Government or State Government or Courts or Tribunals; or Post in Central Government or State Government or b. Courts or Tribunals with five years regular service in pay band-2, Rs 9300-34800/- with grade pay of Rs 5400/- i.e Level-9 in the Pay Matrix or six years regular service in grade pay 4800/- i.e Level-8 in the Pay Matrix or seven years of regular service in grade pay of Rs 4600/- i.e Level 7 in the Pay Matrix or ten years of regular service in grade pay of Rs 4200/- i.e Level-6 in the Pay Matrix. 5. The National Green Tribunal has been established on 18.10.2010 under the National Green Tribunal Act 2010 for effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources including enforcement of any legal right relating to environment and giving relief and compensation for damages to persons and property and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. It is a specialized body equipped with the necessary expertise to handle environmental disputes involving multi-disciplinary issues. The Tribunal shall not be bound by the procedure laid down under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, but shall be guided by principles of natural justice.
The Tribunal's dedicated jurisdiction in environmental matters shall provide speedy environmental justice and help reduce the burden of litigation in the higher courts. The Tribunal is mandated to make and endeavour for disposal of applications or appeals finally within 6 months of filing of the same. Initially, the NGT is proposed to be set up at five places of sittings and will follow circuit procedure for making itself more accessible. New Delhi is the Principal Place of Sitting of the Tribunal and Bhopal, Pune, Kolkata and Chennai shall be the other four place of sitting of the Tribunal.
