Walk - in Interview will be conducted for following assignment in a time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences of the Institute for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project 1. Name of the Temporary Post : Project Associate 2. No. of Post: 01 3. Name of the Research Project : “Land-atmosphere interaction during thunderstorms over major urban areas of India using high-resolution modeling framework and climatological data sets” 4. Name of the Sponsoring Agency : Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India 5. Tenure of the Project : 03 years 6. Tenure of the Assignment : 03 years / till completion of the project 7. Job Description : Research work related to project. Candidate may register for Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela. 8. Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship : Rs. 31000/- per month 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35000/- per month in 3rd year for candidates with M.Sc. or M.Sc. Tech. or M.Tech. However, if a candidate is having three years of research experience after M.Sc./M.Tech. or has submitted Ph.D. thesis may be offered a monthly fellowship of Rs. 35000/- from the day of the appointment/joining. 9. Essential Qualifications and experience : First division throughout carrier with 65% marks or above in M.Sc. or M.Sc. Tech. or M.Tech. (Atmospheric Science /Meteorology /Oceanography /Physics /Mathematics /Environmental Science /Climate Science /Earth System Science/ Remote Sensing and GIS /Geoinformatics /Applied Geophysics /Equivalent). Candidates with relevant background, who have submitted their Ph.D. can also apply for this position. 10. Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences : Working experience in MatLab /PYTHON /LINUX /WRF model /Remote Sensing and GIS software, and basic understanding of Atmospheric Science. 11. Accommodation : Bachelor accommodation in the Institute may be provided subject to availability.

Selection Procedure
1. The shortlisted candidates would be intimated through e-mail by 16-01-2022 for attending the interview (through Google Meet / Skype).
2. Date and Time for On-line Interview: 12.01.2022, 11 am

3. Eligible candidates may apply for walk-in/online interviews preferably by 12th January 2022. The candidates are required to send the complete filled-up application form (soft copy) to the Email ids given above. The application form is available at the following link http://nitrkl.ac.in/oldwebsite/Jobs_Tenders/5ProjectFellowships/Doc/JRF%20LS-PND-64(2).pdf which must be filled by candidates and also required to attach photocopies of all supporting documents, research papers (if any), etc.
4. The candidates are also required to produce relevant documents mentioned in the application form (such as original of all mark sheets and certificates, research papers (if any), experience certificate (if any), etc. during the interview.)
5. Candidates will build a single pdf file and it is to be sent to the Principal Investigator on or before 12-01-2022.
