National Institute of Virology (NIV) is an apex laboratory under the aegis of the Indian council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India

1. Title of project: “Estimation of population immunity against Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and associated risk factors in different epidemiological transition level (ETL) states in India”.

2. Name of the Post: Project Research Scientist IV

3. Number of Posts: 01

4. Emoluments : Rs. 48000/- plus HRA

5. Essential Qualification: 1 st Class Master Degree in Life Sciences: Specialization required Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Virology / Bioinformatics / Epidemiology/Public Health Two years’ experience in related field OR 2 nd Class Master’s Degree with Ph.D. in above relevant subject

6. Desirable Qualification: Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences: Specialization required in above subjects.Additional post-Doctoral Research/teaching experience in a relevant subject. Doctorate degree in epidemiology/Public Health Willingness to work across India with willingness for extensive travel to different states. Ability to communicate with health officials as well as a common population with different social/demographic characteristics

5. Essential Qualification: Graduate in Life Sciences- Specialization required-Microbiology /Biotechnology /Virology/Anthropology, Graduate in Statistics/Biostatistics / Mathematics/Social Work. Five years’ experience in related field OR Master’s Degree in above subjects

6. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of computer applications and data management. Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue culture techniques/Bioinformatics/Virological Techniques / Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork.  Willingness to work in field. Experience of working in field in varied conditions. Willingness to travel to different states of India with different atmospheric conditions with considerable duration of stay in each state. Ability to lead a team of field worker in different states.

5. Essential Qualification: SSC with one year experience in CMLT/DMLT or certificate of one year training in the relevant area. Intermediate with science subjects shall be treated as equivalent to 2 years experience.

6. Desirable Qualification: Willingness to travel to different states of India with different atmospheric conditions with considerable duration of stay in each state. Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue culture techniques/Bioinformatics/Virological Techniques / Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork. Willingness to work in various states of India. Knowledge of computer applications and data management. Experience of working in field in varied conditions. Ability to lead a team of field worker in different states.
