Educational Qualification: Project Research Assistant: Graduate in Life Sciences- Specialization required- Virology /Microbiology /Biotechnology / Biochemistry Three years’ experience OR Master’s Degree in above subjects
Project Lab Technician: 1. 12th pass in science subjects 2. Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician OR one year DMLT plus one year experience OR two years field/laboratory experience. B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience

Virus Research Center (VRC) was established in Pune in 1952 under the joint auspices of ICMR and Rockefeller Foundation, as part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. It was renamed as National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978. NIV is also the National Centre for Hepatitis and Influenza. In 1995 it has been redesignated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus and Haemorrhagic Fever Reference and Research and Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases.
