Educational Qualification: 12th Pass in Science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or PMW or radiology/ radiography or related subject) or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization or two years field / laboratory experience* or animal house keeping in Government recognized organization. *B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.
Experience: Experience in Research Laboratory and field/handling blood samples, performing
serological assays

Virus Research Center (VRC) was established in Pune in 1952 under the joint auspices of ICMR and Rockefeller Foundation, as part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. It was renamed as National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978. NIV is also the National Centre for Hepatitis and Influenza. In 1995 it has been redesignated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus and Haemorrhagic Fever Reference and Research and Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases.
