Educational Qualification:
Project Technician-III (Lab Technician): 12th Pass in Science subjects and two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or PMW or radiology/ radiography or related subject) or one year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization or two years field / laboratory experience* or animal house keeping in Government recognized organization.
Data Entry Operator: Intermediate or 12th pass from recognized board. A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computer.
Project Assistant (Clerical Assistant): 12th Pass or equivalent from a recognized board with 5 years experience of administrative work, or Graduate in any discipline with 2 years experience of administration work, and a typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi or 10500 KDPH in English or 9000 KDPH in Hindi.
Project Multi-Tasking Staff: High School or equivalent.

Virus Research Center (VRC) was established in Pune in 1952 under the joint auspices of ICMR and Rockefeller Foundation, as part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. It was renamed as National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978. NIV is also the National Centre for Hepatitis and Influenza. In 1995 it has been redesignated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus and Haemorrhagic Fever Reference and Research and Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases.
