Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

This recruitment is exclusively open to gazetted officers of Central/State Government services who meet the following criteria. Both posts require a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) – Eligibility

  • Currently holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
  • With 5 years' service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in posts under PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) with GP Rs. 5,400 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department.
  • Additionally possess a Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience in handling criminal investigation cases, or intelligence work including counter-terrorism operations, or imparting counter-terrorism training.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy. SP) – Eligibility

  • Currently holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
  • With 2 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in posts under Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9,300-34,800) with GP Rs. 4,800 (pre-revised) or equivalent; OR
  • With 3 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in posts under Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9,300-34,800) with GP Rs. 4,600 (pre-revised) or equivalent.
  • Additionally possess a Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in handling criminal investigation cases, or intelligence work including counter-terrorism operations, or imparting counter-terrorism training.

Selection Process & Screening

Selection for these posts will be made through the deputation or absorption mechanism as per the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) guidelines. The process involves:

  1. Screening of Bio-data: Verification of the prescribed Annexure-II bio-data form and career profile.
  2. APAR Dossier Review: Assessment of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
  3. Vigilance & Integrity Verification: Vigilance Clearance Certificate and Integrity Certificate from the respective department must accompany the application.
  4. Penalty Record Check: Details of any major or minor penalties in the last 10 years are examined.
  5. Eligibility Verification by Selection Committee: Final approval by the competent authority and selection committee.
