This is an addendum to the Institute's Rolling Advertisement for Faculty Posts No. EST-II-RFAC0FSEL/1/2025-ESTT.II dated 08.05.2026. The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong, invites applications for the posts of Assistant Professor in the specialties of Neurosurgery, Physiology, and Radiation Oncology. Educational Qualification:
- Neurosurgery: Medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the IMC Act, 1956; M.Ch. (2/3/5 years recognized course) or equivalent; registered with Central/State Medical Council.
- Physiology: Medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the IMC Act, 1956; MD or equivalent postgraduate qualification; registered with Central/State Medical Council.
- Radiation Oncology: Medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the IMC Act, 1956; MD or equivalent postgraduate qualification; registered with Central/State Medical Council.
Note: Eligible non-medical candidates may apply for the Physiology post as per NMC Notification dated 14.02.2022.
Experience:
- Neurosurgery: One year teaching and/or research experience after M.Ch. (2 or 5-year course). No experience required for candidates with a 3-year M.Ch. degree.
- Physiology: Three years teaching and/or research experience after MD or equivalent.
- Radiation Oncology: Three years teaching and/or research experience after MD or equivalent.
Skills:Teaching, research, and clinical expertise in the respective specialty.
Salary:
As per NEIGRIHMS/Government of India norms for Assistant Professor.
