Salary and Pay Scale
Pay Scale: Academic Pay Level 10: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400 (7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix) in addition to other usual allowances as admissible under the rules of the University of Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification (A or B):
Option A
- Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent from an accredited foreign University.
- Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR (exemption as per rules).
Option B
- Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by QS, THE, or ARWU of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Relaxations and Exemptions
- NET Exemption: Ph.D. degree holders as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 and subsequent amendments.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit prescribed for direct recruitment shall be relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen and other specified categories as per Central Government orders. For departmental candidates, the upper age limit shall not be insisted upon.
- Marks Relaxation: 5% relaxation at Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwBD candidates (Visual Impairment and Locomotor Disability). 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) for Ph.D. degree holders who obtained Master's degree prior to 19 September 1991.
Note: The academic score as per screening guidelines shall be considered for short-listing only. Final selection shall be based on interview performance.

- Screening: Applications will be screened based on the academic score as per the screening guidelines of the University of Delhi. The number of candidates to be called for interview will be determined after screening.
- Interview: Selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
- Merit: Direct recruitment shall be on the basis of merit through all India advertisement and selection by the duly constituted Selection Committees.
