The Indian Army has released the official notification for the recruitment of 70 Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers through the NCC Special Entry Scheme (124th Course). This is a golden opportunity for graduates holding an NCC 'C' Certificate to join the Armed Forces as Officers without appearing for a written examination.

Recruitment Type

Direct Recruitment (Merit-based): This recruitment does not involve a written competitive examination (Prelims/Mains). Selection is based on Shortlisting (based on Graduation and NCC grades) followed by a 5-day Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• For NCC Candidates: Graduation Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of B Grade in NCC 'C' Certificate Exam.
• Final Year Students: Candidates studying in the final year are eligible to apply. They must complete their graduation by 01 October 2026.
• For Wards of Battle Casualties: Graduation Degree is required. NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT required for this category.

2. Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)

• Age Limit: 19 to 25 years.
• Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 02 July 2001 and not later than 01 July 2007.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government norms.

3. Mandatory Requirements & Documents

• Nationality: Citizen of India, Subject of Nepal, or Person of Indian Origin.
• Documents for Wards of Battle Casualties: Must possess Battle Casualty certificate, Part II Order, and Relationship Certificate.
• Physical Standards: Candidates must meet specific physical fitness standards before joining the Academy (See section below).

Selection Process & Physical Standards

Since this is Direct Recruitment, there is no written exam. The selection stages are:

1. Shortlisting: Based on Graduation percentage and NCC Grade (Bonus Marks system).
2. SSB Interview: 5-day assessment at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
3. Medical Examination.
4. Merit List & Joining.

Shortlisting Bonus Marks Criteria

Minimum Physical Standards (To be met before joining)

• 2.4 Km Run: 10 Minutes 30 Seconds
• Push Up: 30
• Pull Up: 40
• Sit Up: 06
• Squats: Two Sets of 30 Repetitions
• Lunges: Two Sets of 10 Repetitions
• Swimming: 25 meters with any stroke

Salary and Perks

During Training (49 Weeks at OTA Chennai)

• Stipend: Rs. 56,100/- per month.

After Commissioning (Pay Matrix)

Additional Allowances

• Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs. 15,500/- per month.
• Technical Allowance (Tier-I/II): Rs. 3,000/- to Rs. 4,500/- per month.
• Field Area Allowances: Applicable based on posting.
• Children Education Allowance: Rs. 2,250/- per month per child.
• Free Medical: For self and family.
• Travel: Home town travel once a year.
