Eligibility Criteria (In-Depth)

1. Educational Qualification

  • For NCC Category: Graduate Degree from a recognized University. Additionally, must possess a Minimum 'B' Grade in NCC 'C' Certificate and have served a minimum of 2-3 years service in the NCC Senior Division/Wing.
  • For Wards of Battle Casualties (WOBC): Graduate Degree from a recognized University. NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT required for this category, but a valid Battle Casualty Certificate issued by the Manpower Directorate is mandatory.

2. Age Limit (Crucial Details)

Candidates must be between 19 to 25 years of age.

  • Age as on: 01-07-2026
  • Date of Birth Range: Born not earlier than 02-07-2001 and not later than 01-07-2007.

3. Mandatory Requirements

  • Marital Status: Candidates must be Unmarried females.
  • Gender: Only Female candidates are eligible.
  • Physical Standards: Must be medically fit for military service as per Army standards (Detailed physical criteria will be checked during SSB Medicals).

Selection Process

Since this is a Direct Recruitment entry, there is no Preliminary or Mains written exam. The selection is based on a merit list generated from NCC and academic performance.

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Based on 100 marks (50 marks for NCC performance/Grades + 50 marks for Graduation Academic Performance). Bonus marks are awarded for higher NCC grades.
  2. Merit List: Candidates are shortlisted for SSB interviews based on the vacancy to application ratio.
  3. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview: Two-stage interview process at designated centers.
    • Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT).
    • Stage II: Group Tasks, Interview, Conference.
  4. Medical Examination: Mandatory for SSB recommended candidates.
  5. Final Merit List: Based on SSB marks and age (for tie-breaking).
  6. Training: Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of Pre-Commission training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
