Online applications are invited from MALE & FEMALE Indian Citizens for filling up 2788* vacancies (2651 Vacancies for MALE candidates and 137 Vacancies for FEMALE candidates) for the post of Constable (Tradesman) Exam 2021-22 in Border Security Force in the Pay Matrix Level-3, Pay scale Rs.21,700-69,100/- of 7th CPC (Revised Pay Structure) and other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time. In addition, Ration allowance, Medical Assistance, free accommodation, free leave pass, etc. are granted which are admissible to BSF employees.

1. Name of the Post: Constable (Tradesman)
2. No of Post: 2788* vacancies (2651 Vacancies for MALE candidates and 137 Vacancies for FEMALE candidates)
3. Salary: Pay Matrix Level-3, Pay scale Rs.21,700-69,100/- of 7th CPC (Revised Pay Structure)
4. Education Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University or Board with:-
(i) Two years work experience in respective trades; (OR)
(ii) One year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute/ Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade; (OR)
(iii) Two years Diploma from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade.

Age Limit: Between 18 to 23 years as on 01.08.2021. Relaxation in respect of the candidates for SC/ST/OBC category and other special categories of personnel in accordance with the instructions issued by Central Govt. from time to time.
The selection method will be as under:-
(A) First Phase Of Examination Candidates whose online application forms are found to be in order will be called to appear in PST/PET.
(a) Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET):-
(i) At the very beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby, candidates with lesser height will get eliminated and will not be allowed to participate in further process of recruitment.
(ii) Those candidates who qualify the height bar will be subject to Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
(iii) Those candidate(s) who qualify in PET will be subject to bio-matric identification & screening of testimonials/document by the Board. The candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from recruitment process. However, elimination on grounds of weight will be done at the time of medical examination only.
(iv) Woman candidate, who as a result of tests is found to be pregnant of 12 weeks standing or over, shall be declared temporarily unfit and her appointment held in abeyance until the confinement is over. The vacancy against which a women candidate was selected should be kept reserved for her. She should be re-examined for PET six weeks after the date of confinement, subject to the production of the medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner.
(v) Original documents/testimonials of candidates will be checked by the Board of Officers and only eligible candidates will be go to the next stage.
(vi) Candidates are advised to refrain themselves from consuming/intaking performance enhancing drugs/injections during PET. Candidates are advised to keep in mind their own physical stamina and endurance level. BSF will not be responsible for any untoward incident occurring during PET as a consequence of consumption of performance enhancing drugs/injections or other reasons.
(b) TradeeTest :- The candidates who qualify in the PST, PET & Documentation will be put through the respective Trade Test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade test only. The Trade test will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks. The requisite skill/qualification for each trade.
(B) Second Phase Of Examination
Written Examination for 100 marks :-
(i) Successful candidate in the first phase examination i.e. PST, PET, Documentation and Trade Test will be called to appear in second phase of examination i.e. Written Examination which will be communicated to the candidates through E-Mail address/ SMS for call letters through online.
(ii) The Written Examination will be of 100 marks containing 100 questions (qualifying marks 35% for General Category/EWS & ExServicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC) will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a Blue or Black ball point pen only
(iii) While all the question papers in an examination may contain the same set of questions, the question papers may be in different series, which will have the questions in different order.
(iv) The question paper will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks
(C) Third Phase Of Examination
(a) Detailed Medical Examination:- (i) The candidates who qualify all the above stages i.e. PST, PET, Documentation, Trade Test and Written test will put through Detailed Medical Examination (DME) which will be carried out by Medical Board of Officers to assess their physical & medical fitness.
(ii) The medical examination of candidates will be carried out as per revised uniform medical guidelines issued by MHA vide UO No. A.VI1/2014-Rectt(SSB) dated 20.05.2015 as amended from time to time
(iii) Candidates have to qualify all the stages of the third phase examination one by one. Any candidate not qualified any of the stage of examination, he/she will be eliminated from the recruitment process.
(iv) Candidates having Tattoos will be considered as per following instructions:-
(a) Content: Being a secular country, the religious sentiments of our countrymen are to be respected and thus, tattoos depicting religious symbol or figures and the name as followed in Indian Army are to be permitted.
(b) Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands are to be allowed.
(c) Size: Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.
(d) In case a candidate has undergone removal of tattoo(s) prior to appearing for recruitment process and the same has faded substantially, this will be treated as a “scar” and not a tattoo. Such candidates will be permitted to undergo the entire selection process with the approval of Presiding Officer of the recruitment Board. Further, the scar resulting due to removal of tattoo will be reviewed by the Medical Board of Officer during Detailed Medical Examination”.
(v) Candidates will be called for medical examination in order of merit. Such candidates will be called till such time all vacancies in their respective categories are filled.
(vi) For female candidates only : Any such female candidates who during the medical examination is found to be pregnant of twelve weeks or above, she shall be declared temporarily unfit and her appointment will be held in abeyance until the confinement is over.
1. The application by the candidates must be submitted through ONLINE mode. No other mode for submission of application will be accepted.
2. The facility for submission of online application will be opened on BSF website https://rectt.bsf.gov.in. w.e.f. 16/01/2022 at 00:01 AM and will be closed on 01/03/2022 at 11:59 PM. Procedure for submission of online application is attached with this advertisement.

Till 1965, India's borders with Pakistan were guarded by the State Armed Police Battalion. On 09 April 1965, Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Char Bet and Baria Bet in Kutch. This attack revealed that the State Armed Police Battalion was insufficient to counter armed aggression due to which the Government of India felt the need for a special Border Security Force under the Center which would be an armed and trained force and the International Border along the Pakistan border. will monitor. As a result of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries, the Border Security Force came into existence on 1 December 1965 and Shri KF Rustomji was its first chief and founder. The Border Security Force was formed in 1965 with a total of 25 battalions and over time Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, The Border Security Force continued to expand to prevent terrorism in the North East. At present, 192 Battalions of Border Security Force (including 03 NDRF Battalions) and 07 Arty Regiment are deployed in the security of the International Border of India-Pakistan and Indo-Bangladesh. Apart from this, the Border Security Force is deployed in infiltration in the Kashmir Valley, internal security in the North East region, anti-Naxal operations in Orissa and Chhattisgarh and integrated check posts on the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh international borders.
