Contract Safai Karmachari (Sanitation Worker)
The Department of Local Self Government (Swayatt Shasan Vibhag), Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, has invited online applications under Advertisement No. 01/2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of Contract Safai Karmachari, to strengthen the Swachh Bharat Mission and sanitation systems across 183 urban local bodies (ULBs) of the state. Age Relaxation: As on 1st January 2027, relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as follows:
- SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS male candidates (Rajasthan domicile): 5 Years
- General category women (Rajasthan domicile): 5 Years
- SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS women candidates (Rajasthan domicile): 10 Years
- Widows and divorced/judicially separated women: No upper age limit (subject to retirement age)
- Ex-servicemen: 10 Years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 5 Years (in addition to their category-based relaxation)
One-Time Registration (OTR) Fee: Candidates must complete OTR on the SSO portal and pay the following fee through e-Mitra kiosk/Jan Suvidha Kendra:
- General (Unreserved): Rs. 600/-
- Reserved Category: Rs. 400/-
- Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan): Rs. 400/-
Monthly Honorarium:₹7,410/- (as per Labour Department notification dated 13th December 2024).
🎯 Selection Process
Selection for the Contract Safai Karmachari post in each urban local body will be made through a category-wise lottery process using an online software developed by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Rajasthan, based on the number of notified posts.
Lottery Process Conditions (Priority Order):
- Priority will first be given to candidates having 1 year of sanitation work experience in the same urban local body for which they are applying.
- If posts remain vacant, candidates having 1 year of sanitation experience in any other urban local body of the same district will be included.
- If posts still remain vacant, candidates having 1 year of sanitation experience in any urban local body of the state will be included.
📝 How to Apply Step-by-Step
Candidates must apply online only through the designated portals. The following steps outline the application process:
- Visit the Portal: Go to the Department’s online portal https://lsg.urban.rajasthan.gov.in/ or the SSO portal https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in and log in.
- Select Recruitment: Select “Recruitment Portal” under Citizen Apps (G2C) and click on “Apply Now.”
- Complete OTR: If not already done, complete One Time Registration (OTR) by entering category, disability status, and home state details, and pay the applicable OTR fee.
- Fill Application: After OTR, log in through SSO and fill out the online application form. Details entered during OTR (name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID details) cannot be modified.
- Upload Details: Capture a live photograph and enter a visible mark. Ensure all details are entered carefully, as incomplete or incorrect entries may lead to rejection.
- Enter Jan Aadhaar: Enter your Jan Aadhaar number, as it is mandatory for the application.
- Review and Submit: Review all entries carefully and submit the application. Note down your Application ID; if you don’t receive one, your application has not been submitted.
- Print Application: Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
Important Points: A candidate can apply for only one urban local body out of the 183. Applying to more than one ULB will lead to rejection of all such applications.
