Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has released a notification for the engagement of Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) for the year 2026-27, under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. The recruitment drive covers apprenticeship training slots in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation engineering disciplines across HPCL’s Marketing Division locations spread all over India. The facility to apply online will be available on the HPCL portal from 15th July to 31st July 2026.

Educational Qualification:
Engineering Graduation in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation recognized by Board of Technical Education/UGC/AICTE. Candidates must have completed graduation on or after 01-09-2023. UR/OBC-NC: 60% aggregate; SC/ST/PwBD: 50% aggregate.
Experience:Candidates with one year or more of work experience are not eligible.
Skills:As per the specific engineering discipline.
Salary:
Monthly Stipend of ₹25,000 (₹20,500 by HPCL + ₹4,500 by Government of India under DBT).
Age Limit: 18 to 25 Years as on 31-07-2026. Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC-NC – 3 years; PwBD – 10 years.
Selection Procedure:

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was formed on July 15, 1974. Its CIN No. is L23201MH1952GOI008858. HPCL is a Schedule ‘A’ CPSE a Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company with a ranking of 54 with Annual Gross sales of Rs. 2,69,243 crore during FY 2020-21. HPCL enjoys over 18% market share in India and has a strong presence in Refining & Marketing of petroleum products in the country.
HPCL owns and operates Refineries at Mumbai & Visakhapatnam with designed capacities of 7.5 MMTPA & 8.3 MMTPA respectively. HPCL also owns the largest Lube Refinery in the country at Mumbai for producing Lube Oil Base Stocks with a capacity of 428 TMTPA. HPCL holds 48.99% equity stake in JV Company, HMEL which operates a 11.3 MMTPA capacity refinery in Punjab and also has 16.96% equity stake in MRPL which operates a 15 MMTPA capacity refinery in Karnataka.

The customer touch points constitute of 18,692 Retail Outlets, 1,638 SKO/LDO dealers, 283 Lube distributors,120 Carrying & Forwarding Agents, 709 CNG facilities at Retail Outlets and 6,192 LPG Distributorships with a customer base of about 8.7 crore LPG consumers as of May’21.
