Educational Qualification:
General Duty (GD):
(i) Should hold a Graduate Degree from a recognised university.
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess a diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Technical (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics):
(i) Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section „A‟ and „B‟ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
(ii) Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section „A‟ and „B‟ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
(iii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

ICG Assistant Commandant Recruitment Medical Standards:
Height - Minimum 157 cm (relaxation as per rules for hilly/tribal areas)
Weight - Proportionate to age and height (+10% permissible)
Chest - Minimum expansion 5 cm
Eyesight (GD) - 6/6 & 6/9 (uncorrected), 6/6 (corrected)
Eyesight (Tech) - 6/36 (uncorrected), 6/6 (corrected)

Selection Procedure: The selection of Assistant Commandants is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination.

Application Fee: All candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee or who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

About Indian Coast Guard

Indian Coast Guard Logo

The Indian Coast Guard is a multi-mission organization, conducting round-the-year real-life operations at sea. Despite being relatively small, it has a wide range of task capabilities for both surface and air operations. The organization is headed by the Director General Indian Coast Guard (DGICG) exercising his overall command and superintendence from the Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ) located at New Delhi. At CGHQ, he is assisted by four Deputy Director Generals of the rank of Inspector General, and other senior officers heading various staff divisions. For effective command and control, the Maritime Zones of India are divided into five Coast Guard Regions, namely, North-West, West, East, North-East and Andaman & Nicobar, with the respective Regional Headquarters located at Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Port Blair. The Coast Guard Regions are commanded by Officers of the rank of Inspector General. The regions are further divided into twelve Coast Guard ‘Districts’, one each for the nine coastal states on the mainland, two in the Andaman & Nicobar Region, and one at Kavaratti in the Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands. Each Coast Guard District comprises of one or more Coast Guard Stations. In addition, there are Coast Guard Air Stations (CGAS) and Air Enclaves (CGAE) for air operations from various locations along the coastline.
