Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) invites applications from Indian Nationals (Foreign Nationals may also apply, for appointment to tenure/contractual position as per MHRD, GoI rules), who are well-qualified, energetic, and strongly motivated for high-quality teaching and research in IIT Patna. The department-wise details of post / specific qualification requirements and specialization areas are as follows: 1. Post Name: Assistant Professor 2. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements: a. One should have a Ph.D. degree with first-class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least three (03) years of post-Ph.D experience in teaching/research/industry for the post of Assistant Professor(Grade I), excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing b. Ph.D. Candidates not satisfying the experience requirement for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor(Grade I) may be considered for the post of Assistant Professor(Grade II) which may be moved to Assistant Professor (Grade I) subsequently on completion of the minimum experience requirement and satisfactory performance in teaching & research during the tenure at IIT Patna. 3. Pay Scale & Perks: Assistant Professor (Grade I): To be appointed in pay level 12 (Rs. 101500-167400) with minimum pay of Rs. 101500/-. After completion of 03 years of service as Assistant Professor in Pay Level 12, the candidates will be considered for movement to pay level 13A1 (Rs. 131400-204700). Candidates with Ph.D. but with less than 03 years’ experience can be considered for Assistant Professor (Grade II) in Pay Level 10 (minimum pay of Rs. 70900/-) or 11 with minimum pay as approved by the selection committee or by the Board of Governors. 4. Selection Procedure
