Educational Qualification:
Second Officer (Dredger & Despatch Service): Candidates Should have 2nd Mate (FG)/ Dredge Mate Grade-I/ 2nd Mate (FG-limited to Dredgers) / Navigational Watch Keeping Officer (NCV Certificate) or B.Sc Nautical Science with 01 years of experience.
Trainee Dock Pilot: Candidates Should have 2nd Mate (FG)/Dredge Mate Grade-I or B.Sc Nautical Science.
Inland Master: Candidates Should have 1st Class Inland Master Certificate.
Radio Officer: Candidates Should have Possesses a vaild Indian GMDSS (GOC) Certificate with 02 years experience.
Pay Scale:
INR
40000-57000/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 55 Years.

Established in 1870, the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (formerly Kolkata Port) stands as India’s first major and sole riverine port, boasting two dock systems – Kolkata Dock and Haldia Dock Complex.
Despite facing a decline since 1966-67, the port’s adaptability led to a resurgence in cargo and vessel handling, recording 50.951 million tonnes of traffic and handling 7,71,676 TEUs in 2016-17.
Notably, Kolkata Port ranks 3rd in India for container traffic and maintains its position as the major port circuit’s busiest in terms of vessel handling.
A well diversified investment programm is already in place at SMPK, aimed at improvement of infrastructure/capacity augmentation/consolidation of existing facilities at the two dock systems while harnessing the deep-drafted facilities of the port to attract additional cargo/arrest flight of cargo.
Kolkata Port Trust was formed in 1870. The Kolkata Port Trust manages two separate docks - the Kolkata Dock System (KDS) and the Haldia Dock Complex (HDC).
