Applications are invited from eligible Professors currently serving at NIT Agartala for up-gradation to the Professor (Higher Administrative Grade) position. This is a promotion from Pay Level 14A to Pay Level 15 of the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix. Interested and eligible faculty members should submit their applications in the prescribed format.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Professor (HAG)

  • Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
  • Essential Requirements:
    • Six years as Professor in Pay Level 14A (Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,500/-), OR
    • Ten years as Professor in any Pay Level.
  • Credit Points: Minimum 200 Cumulative Essential Credit Points are required.
  • Selection Criteria: Based on "Guidelines for movement to Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) in NITs" issued by the Ministry of Education. Performance is evaluated through a credit point system assessing research, teaching, and administrative contributions.

Selection Process

The up-gradation is strictly limited to the top 40% of the sanctioned strength of Professors. Selection will be based on the evaluation of the application and supporting documents. The assessment relies on a credit point system that evaluates:

  • Research Output
  • Administrative Contributions

Candidates must meet the minimum cumulative essential credit points (200) to be considered eligible.
