Online applications are invitcd from the cligible candidates from 28.03.2022 to 18.04.2022 till 11.59 P.M. for recruitment of 22 (Twenty Two) posts of Junior Stcnographer in Group-C in the scale of pay of Rs.25,500 other Allowanccs as may be sanctioned by the Govcrnment of Odisha from time to time. 1. Post Name: Junior Stenographer 2. No. of Post: 22 3. Qualification: A candidate must possess a Bachclor's Degrec in any discipline from a recogniscd University with a minimum spced of 80 words per minute in short hand and 40 words per minute in type writing/ transcription on computer. He/ she should have adequate knowledge in Computer Application. Advertisement No. 3 of 2022

Selection Procedure
1. Short Hand and Type Writing Test: The dictation of an English passage containing 400 words shall be made at a spced of 80 words per minute and transcription on Computer at a specd of 40 words per minutc. 100 Marks 5 minutes for short hand/ dictation test and 10 minutes for type writing/ transcription test on computer.
2. For each correct word 0.25 marks will be awarded. Maximum permissible limit of mistakes and/or omissions is 10% of total words. Mistake means wrong spelling of words, substitution of words, overlapping of words and wrong punctuation marks. Mistakes and/or omissions beyond 10% of total words shall be treated as disqualification and the candidates shall be debarred from consideration for selection.

5. Skill Test 50 Marks MS Office (Word, Exccl & Power Point), MS Access, Internet Operation/ File Uploading & downloading
6. A candidate sccuring less than 50% of marks in the Computer Application Test shall be disqualified and a candidate who does not qualify in thc Computer Application Test, shall not be called to participate in the Skill Test.
7. Qualifying Test in English Subject 100 marks (1 Y hours duration)
a. An Essay in English 20 Marks
b. Translation of Passagc from Odia 20 Marks to English
c. 20 Marks Re-translation of passage from English to Odia
d. Knowledge in English Grammar 40 Marks

About Orissa High Court
At the commencement of the 20th Century Bengal Presidency was a vast province including Assam, Bihar and Orissa. It was really difficult to manage administratively. Administrative exigencies required separation of such areas which originally did not form part of Bengal. In 1905 Lord Curzon partitioned Bengal into two parts and formed a new province with Assam and Eastern Bengal. Bihar and Orissa were retained with remaining parts of Bengal as province of Bengal. Partition of Bengal stimulated nation-wide protest. It was opposed by all sections of Bengalees. Fierce agitation ultimately compelled the British to re-partition. The two parts of Bengal were again united. Bihar and Orissa were separated from Bengal Presidency to form new province of Bihar. By a notification dated March 22, 1912 new province of Bihar and Orissa was formed. However, still the said new province of Bihar and Orissa was under the jurisdiction of Calcutta High Court.
On February 9, 1916 High Court of Patna was formed. Orissa was placed under the jurisdiction of Patna High Court.
On May 18, 1916 Circuit Court of Patna High Court for Orissa held its first sitting at Cuttack.
On April 1,1936 Orissa was made a separate province but no separate High Court was provided for it. On July 26, 1938 the High Court Bar Association at Cuttack adopted a Resolution demanding a separate High Court for Orissa.
On February 11, 1939 a Resolution was moved in the Legislative Assembly requesting the Government to constitute a committee to examine the question of establishing a separate High Court in Orissa.
