✅ Eligibility Criteria – OPSC AEE Civil 2026

Educational Qualification

• Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution, OR
• Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers India (AMIE) in Civil

Age Limit (as on 1 January 2026)

• Minimum: 21 years
• Maximum: 42 years
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen – 5 years; PwD – 10 years; Cumulative for PwD + SC/ST/SEBC – 15 years

Odia Language Requirement

Must be able to read, write, and speak Odia, proven by any of the prescribed methods (e.g., Odia as a subject in Middle School, Matriculation with Odia medium, etc.).

Other Conditions

• Indian Citizen
• Good moral character and mental/physical fitness
• No more than one living spouse (unless exempted)
• Not debarred by any Public Service Commission

Salary & Benefits

Selection Process – OPSC AEE Civil 2026

1. Preliminary Examination: Objective type (100 marks, 1 hour 30 mins), negative marking (25% per wrong answer). Qualifying only – marks not counted in final merit.
2. Main Examination: Two papers – General Studies (200 marks) & Civil Engineering (300 marks). Objective type, 2 marks per correct answer, negative marking.
3. Interview: Personality Test (50 marks).
4. Final Merit: Based on Main Exam + Interview marks (total 550).

Preliminary Exam (Civil Engineering)

Engineering Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Concrete & Steel Structures, Fluid Mechanics, Irrigation, Transportation, Surveying.

Main Exam Paper I – General Studies (+2 Level)

Science & Technology, History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Current Affairs (National & Odisha).

Main Exam Paper II – Civil Engineering (Degree Level)

Solid Mechanics, Structural Analysis, RCC & Steel Design, Building Materials, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical, Transportation, Surveying.

Exam Centers

Primary center: Cuttack. Other possible centers: Bhubaneswar, Baleshwar, Brahmapur, Sambalpur, Jayapur. Candidates choose zone in application.
