Paradip Port is an artificial, deep-water port on the East Coast of India. Strategically located at the confluence of the Mahanadi River and the Bay of Bengal, it handles a diverse range of cargo including iron ore, coal, and crude oil. Following its renaming to Paradip Port Authority (PPA) under the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021, the organization has gained greater autonomy in decision-making and recruitment.
PPA is currently expanding through projects like the North Dock Complex and capital dredging initiatives to facilitate "Cape Size" vessels. For a job seeker, PPA offers the unique benefit of working in a specialized "Port-led Prosperity" environment. The township provides a self-contained lifestyle with its own hospital, schools, and recreational facilities, making it a preferred choice for professionals looking for stable government service with significant industrial exposure.
PPA follows a structured pay matrix aligned with the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) pattern for Port and Dock Officers.
