The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) was established on 31st March 2006. PNGRB was formed to protect the interest of consumer and entities engaged in specified activities relating to petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas and to promote competitive market in the country.

PNGRB is mandated to regulate the refining processing, storage, transportation, distribution, marketing and sale of petroleum, petroleum by product and natural gas excluding production of crude oil and natural gases, so as to ensure adequate supply of petroleum products and natural gas in all part of the country.

PNGRB has vision to create a vibrant energy resource market with rapid and orderly growth through facilitation of flow of investment into the basic infrastructure for efficient transportation and distribution of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas at minimum cost and high level protection to consumer interest through fair trade practices for enhancing the economy of country and customer satisfaction.
