UCSL Walk-in Recruitment 2026

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a Government of India Enterprise, has invited applications from Ex-Indian Navy Personnel for the Walk-in Selection to the posts of Commissioning Engineers and Commissioning Assistants on a contract basis. This is a direct recruitment drive for experienced naval veterans.

Eligibility Criteria & Salary

Eligibility for Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) on Contract basis

• Essential Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/ Marine Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in the Operation and Maintenance of Marine Equipment and Systems.
• Desirable: Experience in Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance and watch keeping of ship equipment on board Indian Navy Ships. Proficiency in Computer based data management & record keeping. Experience on board Naval Capital ships is an added advantage. MCERA/ MCMECH/ CHERA/CHMECH/ ERA3/ MECH 3 / HA3 ranks are desirable.

Eligibility for Commissioning Engineer (Electrical/ Electronics) on Contract basis

• Essential Qualification: Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in Operation and Maintenance of Marine Electrical/Electronic Equipment and Systems.
• Desirable: Experience in computer-based state of the art Instrumentation & weapon control on board Indian Navy Ships. Proficiency in Computer based data management & record keeping. Clear understanding of electrical schematics, troubleshooting and Maintenance / Repair of electrical equipment & systems. Familiarity with operation & maintenance of Main Switch Boards / Power & Control panels / Power Switches/ lighting systems, operation of DGs on board Naval Capital ships will be added advantage. MCEAP/ CHEAP/ EAP3/ CHMECH (P)/CHMECH(R) ranks are desirable.

Eligibility for Commissioning Assistant (Electrician/ Shipwright/ Mechanician) on Contract basis

• Essential Qualification: X Std.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in Operation and Maintenance of Marine Equipment/ Operations / Hull/and Electrical Systems.
• Desirable: Experience in undertaking independent watch keeping of equipment and systems fitted on Indian Naval Ships/ Coast Guard Vessels. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of NBCD systems will be added advantage. CHME/POME/ELR1/ELR2/CHELR/SHW1/SHW2/CHSHW ranks are desirable.

Salary / Remuneration

Important Dates

• Date of Walk-in-Selection: 06 January 2026
• Timing: 0900 Hrs to 1400 Hrs (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
• Application Submission: On the date of Walk-in-Selection at the venue.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a Walk-in-selection and Certificate Verification. Candidates who successfully complete the certificate verification shall only be allowed to attend the selection process on the same date.

How to Apply

Applicants meeting the requirements shall submit their application in the format as per Annexure-I (available on the website) on the date of walk-in-selection at the venue. Candidates must bring original certificates for verification.
