Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 48 Trade Apprentice - Various Disciplines posts. The recruitment is conducted through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Post Code 101 & 103 (Trade Apprentice):
  • Qualification: B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).
  • Minimum Marks: 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• Post Code 104 & 107 (Technician Apprentice):
  • Qualification: Diploma in the specified engineering discipline.
  • Minimum Marks: 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Disciplines:
    • Code 104: Chemical Engineering / Petrochemical / Chemical Tech / Refinery & Petrochemical Engineering.
    • Code 107: Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Electronics / Instrumentation & Control / Applied Electronics & Instrumentation.

2. Experience & Gap Criteria

• No prior apprenticeship experience is required.
• If a candidate has completed a previous apprenticeship in a different discipline, a minimum gap of 1 year is required.

3. Age Limit

Cut-off Date: Age is calculated as of 31-01-2026.

Selection Process

Since this is Direct Recruitment, the selection is strictly merit-based without a written exam.

1. Merit List Preparation: Selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in descending order in the prescribed qualification (B.Sc/Diploma). The aggregate marks of all subjects/semesters are considered.
2. Tie-Breaking Criteria: If two candidates have the same percentage:
   • Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship for the first time.
   • Still tied? Rank determined by Date of Birth (senior age preferred).
   • Still tied? Rank determined by Matriculation (10th) percentage.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear for physical document verification.
4. Medical Examination: A pre-engagement medical fitness examination is mandatory.
5. Final Offer: Issued only to candidates declared medically fit.

Salary / Stipend

Apprentices will receive a stipend as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and IOCL guidelines. The exact amount will be communicated at the time of engagement.
