Applications are invited for the post of Centre Director, Kolkata Centre: UGC-DAE CSR invites applications for the post of Centre Director for its Kolkata Centre. The position is equivalent of Professor in the pay scale of Level-14 as per 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) of Government of India (GoI).

2. Applicants for the post of Centre Director, Kolkata Centre should have a doctoral degree in science and be a researcher of high-standing and reputation, as supported by journal publications evidencing a high standard of independent research activities and leadership in the field of experimental physical/chemical/materials/biological sciences. The applicants must have an adequate experience in PB-4 / Level-13 of 7th CPC, GoI and have proven administrative capabilities to lead the Kolkata Centre of the Consortium.
3. Names of two eminent academics who have personal knowledge of the candidate should be included as references. We welcome applications from less-represented sections of the society and women candidates in our institute. The consortium reserves the right to screen and call only such candidates for an interview as are found suitable.
4. Thus, just fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria would not entitle one to be called for interview. The candidates are responsible for the correctness of the information provided in their applications. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the application is incorrect or false, the candidature of the applicant is liable to be cancelled, or the appointment terminated.

1. Applications will have to be submitted through online (https://csr.res.in) providing all the particulars about the candidature.
2. The candidate will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- through SBI Collect and include the transaction ID / UTR number at the online application portal. Women candidates will have to pay Rs. 500/-.
3. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and persons with disability are exempted from paying this fee.
4. During submission of the online application, the candidates will have to upload a complete CV (not more than four A4 pages), which should include a full list of publications showing all authors' names, title, journal name, year, volume, and page numbers.
5. Application can be submitted online from 17/11/2021 (10.00 AM).
6. Last date of online application submission: 13/12/2021 (5:00 PM).

To promote interaction amongst the scientists working in the research centres of the Department of Atomic Energy and the faculty from the universities and other institutions of higher learning, and to enable young students to work on programmes of national importance under the joint guidance of the faculty from universities and the scientists of DAE so as to nurture an organic linkage between the university system and research centres of DAE, the University Grants Commission and Atomic Energy of new research facilities. Accordingly, the University Grants Commission created an Inter-University Consortium, with its headquarters at Indore for the utilization of the facilities established by the Department of Atomic Energy. The Inter- University consortium has over the years taken several initiatives to foster the interaction between the University system and the DAE institutions.
As per the present MoU, the collaboration between the Department of Atomic Energy and University Grants Commission will be expanded to cover the disciplines of physical sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences and engineering sciences. DAE will continue to make the major research facilities accessible to the researchers from the universities and institutions of higher learning through the consortium. It will also make available the infrastructural and accessorial facilities such as laboratories, library, workshop etc. necessary to carry on the research work. The UGC, through the Consortium, will continue to make suitable financial provision for the salary of the core scientific, technical and administrative staff, fellowship to research students, the travel and stay of the visiting faculty, and other recurring and non-recurring expenditure on the functioning of the Consortium. It will also provide an adequate grant for equipment and consumables.
