Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) – Annexure-I (A)

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Experience Requirement: 5 years' experience in handling cases of investigation of criminal cases, or intelligence work including counter-terrorism operations, or imparting training in counter-terrorism.
  • Service Eligibility (Deputation) – Any ONE of the following:
    • Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
    • With 5 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in posts in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600–39,100) with Grade Pay Rs. 6,600 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy. SP) – Annexure-I (B)

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Experience Requirement: 3 years' experience in handling cases of investigation of criminal cases, or intelligence work including counter-terrorism operations, or imparting training in counter-terrorism.
  • Service Eligibility (Deputation) – Any ONE of the following:
    • Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
    • With 2 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in posts in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9,300–34,800) with Grade Pay Rs. 4,800 (pre-revised); OR
    • With 3 years' service in the grade after regular appointment in posts in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 9,300–34,800) with Grade Pay Rs. 4,600 (pre-revised).

Note 1: Departmental officers in the feeder category in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists are not eligible for appointment by promotion.

Note 2: The period of deputation (including any preceding ex-cadre deputation in the same or another Central Government organisation) shall ordinarily not exceed 03 years.

Note 3: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  1. Nomination through Proper Channel: Cadre / competent authority countersigns and forwards the officer's bio-data (Annexure-II) with supporting documents to NIA Headquarters within the prescribed timeline.
  2. Advance Copy by Email / Post: Interested officers may simultaneously send an advance copy of their application to [email protected] or by post to the NIA HQ address.
  3. Scrutiny of Eligibility: NIA will verify educational qualifications, experience, APAR record (2021–22 to 2025–26), vigilance clearance, integrity certificate, and penalty history.
  4. Approval / Selection: Eligible nominations are processed for deputation / absorption approval by the competent authority.
  5. No Written Exam or Interview is required for this deputation recruitment.
  6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the nomination process.

Important Clause: Applications received after the last date, incomplete applications, or applications not accompanied by the prescribed documents will not be considered. Candidates who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
