Vacancy Details (Sports Discipline Wise)

Note: The vacancies are distributed across various sports disciplines. The board reserves the right to divert vacancies between male and female candidates if suitable candidates are not available in one category.

Eligibility Criteria for Rifleman/Riflewomen (General Duty)

Essential Qualification

• Education: Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognised Board.
• Sports Qualification: Candidates must have participated in International Competitions, National Competitions, Inter-University Tournaments, National Sports/Games for Schools, Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games, or Khelo India Winter Games.
• Age Proof: Only Matriculation or Higher Secondary School certificate will be accepted as proof of age.
• Equivalence: Educational certificates other than Central/State Boards must be accompanied by Government notifications declaring the equivalence.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

• General/OBC: 18 to 28 years (Born between 01 Jan 1998 and 01 Jan 2008).
• SC/ST: 18 to 33 years (Born between 01 Jan 1993 and 01 Jan 2008).
• Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation of 5 years for Gen/OBC and 10 years for SC/ST is applicable for players who have participated in specified competitions.

Salary

• Pay scale and allowances are admissible as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) for Assam Rifles personnel.
• Selected candidates will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).

• General/OBC: Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable).
• SC/ST/Female: No Fee.

Selection Process

The selection process involves the following stages:

3. Motor Ability Test (MAT): Conducted as per LNCPE/SAI norms.
4. Field Trial: Performance evaluation in the specific sports discipline.
5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Visual acuity and general medical standards.
6. Review Medical Examination (RME): For candidates declared unfit in DME (with written consent).
7. Merit List: Based on sports achievements, Field Trial performance, and level of participation.
