Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree with Physics subject from any recognized university as on 01/08/2025.
- Minimum Marks:
- General Category: Minimum 50% marks in B.Sc with Physics.
- SC/ST Category: Minimum 45% marks in B.Sc with Physics.
- Physics subject is mandatory in the B.Sc degree.
- No specific work experience is required (Freshers can apply).
2. Age Limit (As on 01/08/2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years.
- Maximum Age:
- Male (General): 37 Years.
- Female (General): 40 Years.
- BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 Years.
- SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 Years.
- Age Relaxation:
- Bihar Govt Employees: 5 years relaxation for those seeking promotion through competitive exams (min 3 years service).
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years + service period (max age 57 years).
3. Physical Standards
Height Requirements:
- Male (UR/BC): Minimum 165 cm.
- Male (EBC/SC/ST): Minimum 160 cm.
- Female (All Categories): Minimum 155 cm.
Chest (Male Only):
- UR/BC/EBC: 81 cm unexpanded, 86 cm expanded (Min 5 cm expansion).
- SC/ST: 79 cm unexpanded, 84 cm expanded (Min 5 cm expansion).
Weight:
- Female: Minimum 48 kg.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
- Mode: Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Total Marks: 100.
- Total Questions: 100.
- Duration: 2 Hours.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 30% marks required.
- Shortlisting: Candidates scoring 20 times the vacancies (category-wise) qualify for Mains.
Stage 2: Main Examination
- Paper I (General Language): 100 Marks (Hindi + English). 1.5 Hours. Qualifying only (30 marks).
- Paper II (Physics): 100 Marks. 3 Hours. Minimum 33% marks required.
- Shortlisting: Candidates up to 5 times the vacancies qualify for PET.
