“Engagement of Staff Consultant (Law) in the Law Division of DERC”
Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has felt the need of engaging Staff Consultant(Law) to render assistance to the proceedings of the Commission. He may also be required to brief Advocates of the Commission. The candidate engaged as Staff consultant (Law), shall render assistance to Director of the Law Division.
1. Post Name: Staff Consultant (Law)
2. Scope of Work:- The scope of work for the Staff Consultant (Law) shall be as under-
(a) Analyse facts of cases and to do legal research and assist the Commission in Commission proceedings.
(b) Other legal work as may be assigned from time to time.
3. Number of position: 02
4. Educational: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from recognised University /Institution.
5. Consolidated monthly fee: Rs. 80,000/-
6. Experience: Four years post qualification experience
7. Desirable: Minimum one year experience in District Court/High Court/ Supreme Court as law clerk/ Assistant/ Researcher.
8. LLM degree from a recognized university/institute will be an added advantage.
Pay Scale:
INR
80000(Per Month)
Age Limit: Maximum age 35 years.
Selection Procedure
1. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview with the Selection Committee.
2. More stringent criteria may be applied for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview.

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission was constituted by Govt. of NCT of Delhi vide Notification No.F.11(28)/98-EB/341 dt. 3-3-99 for discharge of the following functions :
To determine the tariff for electricity, wholesale bulk, grid or retail, as the case maybe, in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
To determine the tariff payable for the use of the transmission facilities in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
To regulate power purchase and procurement process of the transmission utilities and distribution utilities including the price at which the power shall be procured from the generating companies, generating stations or from other sources for transmission, sale, distribution and supply in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
To promote competition, efficiency and economy in the activities of the electricity industry to achieve the objects and purposes of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998.
