Educational Qualification: B.Tech/B.E, M.E/M.Tech
IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:
1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (On Contract)
2. Number of Position: 01
3. Essential Qualification:
M. Tech in Electronics/ VLSI/ Nanotechnology /Digital Electronics/ Embedded Systems or equivalent with 60% of marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree AND a valid GATE score OR B. Tech in ECE or equivalent with 60% marks in the qualifying degree AND a valid GATE score
4. Desirable: Knowledge of/interest in working with measuring instruments, clean room facilities
5. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 31,000
6. Duration of the project: Maximum 6 months
7. Tenure of appointment:
The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 06 (six) months, which can be curtailed/extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the Project and requirement in the project. The contractual position will be co-terminus with the project.
8. Project Code: EE/RG/SERBECRA/2019 Title: 2D layered materials based biosensors for early diagnosis of lung cancer
9. Job Description:
The student is expected to learn the concepts related to gas sensors, biosensors, signal processing algorithms (data classification) and microcontrollers. The student should have interest in doing experimental research which includes working with different electronic devices and measuring instruments. As this project includes device fabrication, the candidates will be required to work with some of the clean room facilities.

Selection Procedure
1. Applications will be initially screened and shortlisted for a test or further shortlisted for an interview. The test/interview will be conducted online
2. Mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility will not bestow the right for shortlisting. IIT Dharwad reserves the right to screen and shortlist candidates by introducing higher benchmarks. Emails will be sent to all shortlisted candidates.
3. Date and Time-slots will be communicated through email. Tentative date of written test and/or interviews: 2 nd Feb. 2022. Any change in the schedule will be notified on the IIT Dharwad website

Indian Institute of Technology dhArwAD (IITdh) is one of the third Generation (3-G) IITs, which were established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI). It was started in August 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. Our academic journey began in the Academic Year (AY) 2016-17, with the establishment of four-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) programs - Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).
Currently our Institute offers four other B. Tech. programs - Engineering Physics (EP), Mathematics & Computing (M&C), Civil & Infrastructure Engineering (C&IE), Chemical & Biochemical Engineering (C&BE) as well as a five-year Bachelor of Science-Master of Science (BS-MS) program, a two-year Master of Technology (M. Tech.) Program and a Master of Science (MS) Program offered by the three oldest Departments of Mechanical, Materials & Aerospace Engineering (MMAE), Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering (EECE) and CSE. Our Ph. D program is offered by all the ten Departments [which also include the other seven Departments of Bio Science & Bio Engineering (BSBE), Chemical Engineering (ChE), Chemistry, C&IE, Humanities, Economics, Arts and Rural Technologies (HEART), Mathematics and Physics].
