Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D

IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Mathematics; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Research Associate I

2. Number of Position: 01

3. Essential Qualification: Ph. D in Mathematics with good academic record or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience in Mathematics with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. Those who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting for the award of the degree are also eligible to apply. However, these candidates will be considered as SRF till they defend their thesis. After their successful defence of thesis, they will be eligible for Research Associate I.

4. Desirable Qualification: Minimum 3 years of research experience in functional analysis and partial differential equations is expected

5. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 47,000 per month if thesis defended, else Rs. 35,000 per month+ 16% House Rent Allowance per month

6. Duration of the tenure: Maximum 3 months

7. Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 3 months, which may be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project. The appointment will be co-terminus with the project

8. Project Code and Title: Project code: MA/DRD/DST_INSPIRE/2020 Title: On study of nonlinear Schrodinger operator with critical nonlinearity

9. Job Description: Studying properties of the nonlinear Schrodinger operator.The candidate is expected to do full-time research on the project.
