IIT Madras Invites Application for Project Officer Recruitment 2022

Applications are invited for the following temporary post of Project Officer in the office of Global Engagement, IIT Madras.

1. Co-ordinator: Prof. Preeti Aghalayam - Advisor, Office of Global Engagement.

2. Duration: Six months, extendable based on the performance.

3. Post Name : Project Officer

4. Qualification and Experience : 

a) Educational Qualification: Graduate in Science/Social Science or Diploma holder in any discipline with 2-3 years of experience in implementing S&T based societal projects or similar relevant experience Or

b) Master’s degree in Humanities & Social Science with an interest in gender studies or similar fields.

5 .Pay Range : Up to Rs. 40,000/- pm

6 .Essential Duties: 

a) Supporting the GATI Working Committee and GSAT by communicating with the various institutional stakeholders and relevant external networks to facilitate and enhance joint collaborations.

b) Coordination with faculty, students, staff and other stakeholders to increase, support and implement joint research collaborations with international institutes of repute.

c) Conducting interviews, focus groups and surveys with individuals from diverse backgrounds (including IITM faculty, staff, students etc.).

d) Ability to analyse and draw meaning from collected narratives

e) Exploring possibilities for sourcing funding for the GATI initiatives

f) Strong coordination between various stakeholders at IIT Madras and outside for effective and smooth conduct of events and workshops

g) Conceptualising and hosting events and workshops

h) The program officer is also expected to support the office to initiate, facilitate, and help frame policies related to the GATI objectives

i) Assessing and understanding the various internal existing networks and coordinating with them for execution of the GATI objectives

7. Desirability:

a) Excellent analytical, writing, communication and multimedia presentation skills.

b) Understanding of empirical research methodology; project design, development, data management and data analytics.

c) Fluency in use of online digital platforms, pertinent IT tools and application software.

d) Capacity to learn and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary multiinstitutional teams.

e) Capacity to interact with academia in a spectrum of Higher Education and Research Institutions in India (and UK.)

f) Broad based interest, knowledge and demonstrated understanding of issues pertaining to inclusion, gender equity, gender audit, organizational behavior, institutional policy frameworks, quality assurance, science education and outreach, exemplary practices for increasing participation of women in science at various levels.

Selection Procedure
