Eligibility for Senior Research Fellow

• Essential Qualification:
  • Option 1 (M.Tech/ME/MS): First class (min 65% marks or 7.0 CPI) in M.Tech./ME/MS in Metallurgy, Ceramic, Polymer/Plastic, Mechanical, Chemical Technology, Rubber Technology, Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Steel Technology, Process Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, Industrial Metallurgy, Foundry and Forge, Production Engineering, Surface Science/Engineering, or relevant fields. Must have GATE/NET qualification. Additionally, First class (min 60% marks or 6.5 CPI) in B.Tech./BE, 12th, and 10th.
  • Option 2 (B.Tech/BE/M.Sc): 75% marks or 8.0 CPI in B.Tech./BE from institutes other than IITs/IISc (or 7.0 CPI from IITs/IISc) with valid GATE score. Disciplines: Metallurgy, Ceramic, Polymer/Plastic, Mechanical, Chemical Technology, Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Foundry and Forge, Production Engineering. First class (min 60% marks or 6.5 CPI) in 12th and 10th.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as JRF is required for both qualification options.
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years (for B.Tech/BE/M.Sc as highest qualification) and 32 years (for ME/M.Tech/MS as highest qualification). Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PD as per GOI norms.
• Desirable: Working/research experience in Ceramic/metal composites, Nanocomposites, Environmental engineering, Composite fabrication techniques, Microstructure and Phase analysis, Mechanical and Tribological characterization.
