Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL) is a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Category-I public sector enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. It is the largest producer of manganese ore in the country, catering to a critical raw material need for the domestic iron and steel industry. Originally established as the Central Province Manganese Ore Company (CPMO) in 1896, the company was rebranded as MOIL in 1962 after the Indian government took over its operations.
