Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
The recruitment is exclusively for retired police personnel who served in Odisha Police. The following eligibility conditions must be met:
- Nationality: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- Service Requirement: The candidate must have served in Odisha Police in the rank of Asst. Sub-Inspector, Sub-Inspector, or Inspector of Police.

Selection Process & Screening Criteria
The selection for Special Police Officer (SPO) posts will be conducted through the following stages at Reserve Police Ground, Sambalpur on 10 November 2026 at 06:30 AM:
- Document Verification: Original certificates of age, qualification, service record, and discharge certificate will be verified on the selection test day.
- Medical Examination: A Medical Board shall assess the physical fitness of candidates. The decision of the Medical Board is final and binding. Persons with physical deformities shall not be eligible for appointment.
