The Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow invites applications on prescribed form, from suitable Indian citizens of all categories for appointment for the following faculty members on contract basis for a period of one year or till regular appointment, whichever is earlier in the Departments mentioned below: 1. Position: Professsor 2. No of Post: 01 3. Essential Qualifications: DM/DNB in Hepatology/Gastroenterology OR MD/DNB in General Medicine with Special Training for three years in the Hepatology/Gastroenterology Super Specialty subject in a teaching Institution/Centre of Excellence with dedicated service in that specialty. 4. Experience: a) Candidates should have completed total of 14 years of teaching and/research experience after prescribed post-graduation at a recognized teaching institution as on 25.04.2022. OR 12 year of teaching and/research experience after obtaining the degree of D.M. (2 years duration) in the concerned specialty at a recognized teaching institution. OR b) 11 years teaching and/research experience required if candidate having a degree of D.M. (3 years duration) in the respective specialty at a recognized teaching institution. c) Candidate should have at least four Research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) [only original papers, meta analysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals included in Medline, PubMed, Central Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index, Expanded Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ) will be considered]. d) Candidate should have completed the NMC recognized basic course in Medical Education Technology. e) Candidate should have completed the basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC. 5. Fixed Honorarium: Rs.2, 20,000=00 per month. 1. Position: Assistant Professsor 2. No of Post: 04 3. Essential Qualifications: DM/DNB in Hepatology/Gastroenterology OR MD/DNB in General Medicine with Special Training for three years in the Hepatology/Gastroenterology Super Specialty subject in a teaching Institution/Centre of Excellence with dedicated service in that specialty. 4. Experience: a) Candidates should have completed total 03 years of teaching and/research experience after prescribed post-graduation at a recognized teaching institution for Assistant Professor as on 25.04.2022. OR b) 01 year of teaching and/research experience after obtaining the degree of D.M. (2 years duration) in the concerned specialty at a recognized teaching institution for the post of Assistant Professor OR c) No teaching and/research experience required if candidate having a degree of D.M. 3 years duration) in the respective specialty at a recognized teaching institution. In subjects where Post-Postgraduate qualification is not yet prescribed by NMC/MCI, three years post M.D. experience in concerned specialty as Senior Resident at an institute recognized by NMC/MCI for the purpose will be accepted in lieu of such qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor. Prescribed duration of experience will be determined as per institute rules. 5. Fixed Honorarium: Rs.1, 20,000=00 per month.

Complete application form with required self-attested documents along with demand draft should be sent only through speed post/registered post to "The Director, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Raebareli Road, Lucknow-226014 (U.P.)" on or before 25.05.2022. Advertisement No., name of the post & department is to be super scribed on mailing envelops. Two self-addressed envelopes size 26cmX11cm each with Rs.40-00 postal stamp should also be enclosed with application| form.

Application form may be obtained from Executive Registrar of the Institute against demand draft of Rs.2000/-for applicants within the country and US S 100.00 or equivalent foreign currency for overseas candidates in favour of Director, SGPGIMS, Lucknow Academic Account, payable at (SBI-Code No.7789) SGPGIMS, Lucknow. Candidates should write their name on the back side of the draft.
3. Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be treated as rejected.
4. Candidates in employment should attach NOC from the institute where they are serving along with application or produce NOC at the time of interview.
5. The numbers of posts indicated above are provisional and subject to change without prior notice.

The foundation stone of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences was laid on December 14, 1980 in the present King Georges Medical University campus by the then President of India His Excellency, Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy. The State Government aimed to create a state-of-the-art quality medical education, training, medicalcare and cutting-edge research institution with the motto, "Hospitals with a long tradition of excellence have demonstrated abundantly that research enhances the vitality of teaching, teaching lifts the standards ofservice and service opens new avenues of investigation"
Over the years, looking into the needs of patients, the departments of Critical Care Medicine, Hematology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Pediatric Surgical subspecialty were started. Under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Sewa Yojna, the departments of Plastic Surgery, Maternal & Reproductive Health, Pulmonary Medicine, Molecular Medicine & Biotechnology, Opthalmology and Neonatology were developed.
