Applications are invited in the prescribed format (Online application) for the following temporary contract positions for our ad-hoc research projects at the Department of Clinical Virology, SVIMS, Tirupati. 1. Name of the post: Scientist - B (Non-Medical) 2. Number of posts: 01 3. Emoluments: Rs.56,000 + HRA 4. Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university or 2nd class M. Sc. in Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology + Ph.D degree in Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university. 5. Desirable: (1) Doctorate or M. Tech Degree in Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree. (2) Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in recognized institute(s). (3) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management (4) Two years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification (5) Work experience in the Virus diagnostic laboratory/Cell Culture/ ELISA /PCR/sequencing. (6) Good English speaking and writing skills. 6. Name of Project: ''Setting up of Nation-Wide Network of Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and National Calamities" (VRDL project)

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) is a Medical Institute under State Legislature Act and a specialty hospital in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
SVIMS was conceived on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi and was created by an act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. The foundation stone was laid on 18 April 1986 by N. T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The hospital started functioning from 2 February 1993 and later became a Medical Institute under State Legislature Act in 1995.
