Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) invites Online Applications for faculty positions under Special Recruitment Drive for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Persons with Disabilities (PWD-VI, HI & OH) from Indian Nationals in the various academic Schools in all the relevant areas:
1. Post Name: Assistant Professor Grade-I
2. Essential Qualifications: Ph.D in a relevant area with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in appropriate branch/discipline with consistently good academic record throughout
3. Experience: At least 3 years relevant industrial /research /teaching experience excluding however, the experience gained while pursing Ph.D
4. Salary: Rs. 84,700
5. Reservation: Reservation will be applicable as per Govt. of India norms. The candidate are required to submit the Caste/Category/Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by DoPT, Govt. of India for this purpose. No other format will be admissible.
6. Definition of "First Class" for the purpose of faculty selection: IIT Mandi takes first class for faculty selection to mean 60% of the range of grade points or marks. However, for those institutes which award first class, the minimum of 60% or the percentage of marks or grades at which the institute awards first class is taken as the criterion for first class. Nevertheless, the criterion for first class shall not be lower than 58% in any case

Selection Procedure
1. No information will be sent to those candidates who are not shortlisted for interview.
2. Higher qualifications and experience may be used in each area based on need. In view of the interdisciplinary nature of IIT Mandi, although posts may be advertised against one School, the selected candidate may be offered the same post in another School if the Selection Committee finds this to be more suitable.
3. Candidates may be asked visit IIT Mandi for personal interaction, seminar, teaching demonstration etc. before formal interview by the selection committee. Such interaction may be arranged online also. Interviews will be scheduled based on the need of the Schools/Institute.
