Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country. Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on temporary and contractual basis under project titled “SARS Covid-2 genome sequencing and environmental surveillance” (Code: 33821559) funded by private agency:
ADVT. NO. 08/2022
1. Name of the Post: Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF)
2. No. of posts: 02 (Two)
3. Minimum Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology / Genomics / Bioinformatics / Biostatistics or related fields, and evidence of scientific productivity through publications in international journals. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply
4. Preference: Candidates having experience in following will be preferred:
a. Analyzing RNA-sequence and WGS next generation sequencing data, variant calling in NGS data.
b. Working with programming languages like Perl or Python or R and adept in large data analysis and data representation.
5. Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of six months extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent, need for services and continuation of the project.
6. Consolidated emoluments:
a) Rs. 65,000/- to Rs. 75,000/- per month depending upon the experience
b) Candidates who have submitted their thesis but not completed defense (i.e. candidates without a provisional certificate of having qualified for the degree), will be designated as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and paid Rs. 65,000/- per month till the time of submission of Provisional Ph.D. certificate.
