Educational Qualification:
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): (a) Graduate in English with 50% aggregate marks. (b) B Ed (c) Proficiency in English speaking (d) Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) / Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Paper –II conducted by CBSE / appropriate Government in accordance with the guidelines framed.
Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): (a) M Sc Maths from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the subject OR (b) Two years integrated Post Graduate MSc course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in Maths (c) B Ed (d) Proficiency in teaching in English medium.

Selection Procedure

Sainik School Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala is located 18 km away from Thiruvananthapuram city on the National Highway.
The concept of the Sainik school originated in the mind of late V K Krishna Menon, who was India's first Defence Minister. He felt that a school run on military lines, in each state of India, would provide the intake to the National Defence Academy. Moreover, the high levels of physical, mental and intellectual attainments needed for induction into the Officer Cadre could not be nurtured in the common schools, mainly because of the lack of infrastructure facilities.
The school came into being on 20 Jan 1962. The administration of Sainik schools is vested in an autonomous body known as Sainik Schools Society under Ministry of Defence.
